general update

Jan 13, 2010

If the psychologist was being open, he says I'm doing this at the right time of my life and for the right reasons and he's thinking my surgery will be in about 6 weeks.  I know any and everything can happen to stall the process but I'm being zen about it all.  I can't say I enjoyed the psych visit -- I knew most of what he asked me if I realized -- but I'm sure there's a formal questioning route he has to follow.

My session with Jackie was fun-filled but a little daunting with all that information.  I've laid the folder to the side and I'll look at the shopping list, etc. when my brain stops spinning.  Living so far out from the metropolitan area of Hampton Roads means I'll have to plan my search for the perfect protein mix when I'm in that area.

I met the nicest woman, Angela Perry, who registered me at Bon Secours yesterday.  She wants to do this surgery when her insurance either changes or allows her to.

I've also shared my decision with my teeny-tiny-sister-in-law who lives in "Hotlanta."  Not only is she applauding me for taking charge of my health, she's looking forward to taking me shopping in the "big" city!

I also told my dental hygenist -- I have perfect teeth and gums thank you very much -- who is so excited for me.

It's a big life change...
