pre-op liquid diet

Aug 07, 2010

I have been on the diet for 6 days and down 6 lbs so far don't know if this is normal , but taking it in slowly. I do have some issues with what I am allowed to eat or lets say drink. I did have a small salad which I really never liked , but made myself try them..not so bad...always thought eww rabbit food, but when you are hungry and its the only thing...I'll take it..lol Have been drink protein shakes and eating low fat yogurt and jello up the ying yang. I had some cottage cheese and added cinnamon and sugar substitute to it and loved it . Doc told me on my last visit if I had to cheat plz stay away from the carbs...which I have done with flying colors. I have a great bunch of family and friend supporting me along the way an which I am very blessed to have. I'm so excited to have this surgery since I have been waiting for something for many years now. My hubby was deployed overseas with the Army and he was scared with him not here for me to go through with this alone..well glad to say he is back and I'm on my way to a healthier me. I'm a mom of 3 boys who love to eat all kinds of fast foods and enduring that has been a challenge alone for me. So things shall change here and hopefully the boys will get a wide eye opening to the reasons to eat much healthier. I am soon to need a knee replacement surgery and it will follow after some weight has dropped off and what a relief that will be. The pain is unbelievable at times. I know its could also be from the extra pounds I have gained over the years. Well just wanted to let into my life and share somethings with you . I hope to  make lots of friends along the way and enjoy being a member of this site. Any suggests on the liquid diet would be very welcomed. Thank you and have the best day ever. HUGS SSS.
