LISA'S JOURNEY.
Sep 01, 2014
Welcome to my blog. I'm usually a quiet person yet when I have something to say, I like to be able to say it to someone. I started this journey about 8 weeks ago first with an orientation that never took place. Then an orientation that did take place. I have had one nutrition class and have to meet with the "Nut" twice. The first time being next Wednesday, 9/11. Tommorrow I have my psych eval, one more item down. I have already had the endoscopy and clearance from my cardiologist. My insurance requires a 3 month medically supervised "diet." Don't know what else will be required of me. My BMI is approximately 43 and I weighed in at 260 prior to the new "lifestyle change" (hard not to say diet). I find myself wondering how I will react to not having sugar or much fat on a regular basis after the surgery. At the same time, I am selecting RNY vs the Sleeve due to the possible dumping syndrome. I know myself, I need the added incentive that I will adhere to the new eating style. Only a couple of people know of my decision and that's the way I have chosen to do this because I don't want to hear their judgement. I already had one friend say that she doesn't think I need surgery. I just need to go back to WW. What's that saying...keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome. I think 5 times is enough for me to learn that it isn't working for me. I am west of Rochester, NY and hope that I am able to meet other western NYers through this blog.
