A little help from my Friends

Dec 06, 2007

The one amazingly wonderful thing about this whole process has been the sometimes immediate response of finding some wonderful friends.  We all have had to deal with the drama, discrimination and hurt of being overweight and we all have that in common.   Then sometimes you find people that you just click with.
To those of you.  Thanks so much for being here for me.  I always have someone to share the tears, laughter and the cravings for chocolate with.  My GV girls and guy, you make my day brighter every day.
As for the marriage, there's always the hyatt

Nervous, Nervous, Nervous

Sorry guys looking for wls information today.  I just have to vent to nowhere.  I am going to our first marriage counseling appt today.  How am I going to explain to Don and the Dr that the stuff that I put up with for 18 years isn't acceptable anymore.
I think that when someone is grossly overweight, they don't expect much from others.  They just feel grateful that they have a husband or a friend.  Then you lose weight, find yourself and your confidence again, and everyone around you is the same.
Its hard

Sleigh Bells are Ringing

Its hard to believe that its almost Christmas again.  I'm such a poor blogger.  Things are good weight and surgery wise.  I'm holding steady with my weight.  Up and down of course, but at least the same six pounds.  Unfortunately I can eat anything that I want to now.  Cheesecake, slides right down, oreos, no problem.  It really is true that the surgery is such a tool that you have to use.  It is definately not a solution.
I met a big goal Saturday by riding a horse.  Dad bought horses when John first expressed an interest in riding.  I was too big to ride then.  I loved getting the horses, brushing them, and leading them around.  I finally got on one and rode it all by myself.  It was the best feeling ever.
I'm having the marriage woes now that most WLS patients seem to go through.  We have a therapist appointment Wednesday.  Remember, you will change tremendously after this surgery, but those around you are just the same.  And its hard for them to see the changes going on in your life, looks, and emotions.
Good luck everyone
Mary
