Surgeon Testimonial

Richard Thirlby
I was not able to choose my Dr. as he was chosen for me by my Insurance Co., But I could never be happier! Dr. Thirlby and his staff were very helpful in all areas of pre-and post- op information along with nutritional services.
The wait period was a long 7mo. from time of consult, but well worth it. His office staff is friendly, kind and compassionate.
I would have to rate him a "10" in both surgical competency and bedside manner as I feel he is an outstanding Dr. along with all his team as they work together to give the pt. the best experience possible with the greatest chance at success.

Maureen ~ The link that I posted for the medic alert bracelets was http://www.laurensho pe.com. I think Teann also posted some links but I can't remember what they were now. The Lauren's Hope bracelets are just gorgeous, though, and the service was incredible! I got mine within 2-3 days from the time I placed the online order.

Well this has bee a very stressful week for me. Friday I woke up with a gray rectangular area in the left upper area on my right eye........ I hoped and prayed it would go away, but it didn't. I called the Dr on Saturday ( lucky me I thought as they have Saturday hours ) but not so lucky they wanted me to go right to the Emergency room! I got checked in and they did many test all coming back ok, so they sent me to the eye Dr on call and I went to her office and was put through a battery of test and really no for sure diagnosis!
although it seems it will end up with Macular degeneration as it runs in my family.
The Dr seen lots wrong with my eyes but nothing to explain what was going on with them now....... not to comforting!
Well I go to my Family Dr on Wednesday because I am having lots of Dizziness and headaches although the Ct Scan shows nothing wrong!
Then on the 29th I go back to the Eye Dr for a follow up.

we are also in the midst of re-financing our house it too has been a night mare, but it is finally coming to a close we will sign on FRIDAY the day after Thanksgiving I will be so happy to have it behind us!

as far as weight loss goes I am frustrated on Friday I was down 4 pounds and was happy but today is my real weigh in day and I was only down 1 lb!
I will not give up I will be true to myself and not let stress take over!

until next week
Best wishes to all pre-ops and post-ops were ever you are on your Journeys.

My week has been good no food issues and or problems
I am happy to say that I did not let stress turn me to food as it normally does! We are in the midst of re-financing our house and let me tell you it has been nothing but a headache.
my weight stayed the same this week.... I am all right with that after the 3 pound loss last week.

Well until next week

Hi everyone I am back after another successful week!!!!!!!! and down a whooping 3 pounds!!!!! yippy!
all my hard work is starting to pay off, I have been sticking to program even when the scale hasn't budged as I knew that I was being true to myself and the scale would catch up eventually. As with all good things we have to WAIT!

last week I cut back on my coffee consumption to 3 cups a day after a friend showed me an article about how coffee hinders weight loss!
maybe thats why we are told to stay away from caffeine! I will try again next week and see how it goes or if this was just a fluke!

I have now lost 18 of the 35 pounds that I have gained!
the process is so much slower this time round but it is possible and I am living proof of that.
Well here is to another successful week.
Best wishes to all pre-ops and post-ops were ever you are on your Journeys.

Plan is to continue as I have been exercise and eating right!

Please continue to pray for those effected by the hurricanes so many are still without their homes.

Well it has been 2 months now that I have been back on program, I can say I am happy with myself for sticking to it even through the rough spots. It has been a hard struggle, not because of food issue but because to know that I have been on program and that I have exercised 5 days a week at 30 min a time and to still have a gain is very hard for me to swallow. But I have not strayed and after the 1lb gain last week I am down -2 lbs this week.
So I have now lost 14 of the the 35 I gained! I am still shooting for Christmas to have the added weight off, although it doesn't appear it will be happening at this rate.........I will still hope for it!

It seems the steps are so large and the reward so small these days.
So I can't emphasize enough..........THE SURGERY IS JUST A TOOL....IT IS NOT A MIRACLE CURE.........YOU MUST WORK YOUR TOOL DAILY...... AND ALWAYS BE TRUE TO YOURSELF..........SCALES DON'T LIE!!!

I can't tell you how happy I am....... as of yesterday I finally got word from my friend Grace H. whom I haven't heard from since hurricane Rita hit.....I have been so worried and I can't tell you how happy I was to hear from her!!!!!
Although her house sustained lots of damage her family thanks to God, for keeping them in the safety and comfort of his embrace.

I am doing well staying on program and exercising 5 days a week, although I am only doing 2 mile walk instead of as previously planned do to low blood sugars
This week I was down another pound...yippy!
I can't stress enough how hard it is to get the weight that I regained back off.....the 1st time round it just fell off this is hard work let me tell you!

SO PLEASE STAY TRUE TO YOUR SELVES AND DON'T CHEAT YOUR SUCCESS
REMEMBER THE SURGERY IS JUST A TOOL AND NOTHING MORE SO WE HAVE TO WORK IT FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES TO KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF.

Thanks for all your prayers for my Friend Grace H and her family as well as all the victims of the Katrina and Rita hurricanes.

Well I am back with a smile on this week, after last weeks upset and weight gain I was all the more determined to stick to it.
I increased the exercise to 2 miles a day ( walking away the pounds video during my lunch break ) I did not give up my shakes, as I figured i will fail if I have to sacrifice everything after all I had already given up my nuts!!!
The week went well with NO food issues this morning weigh in I reaped in the rewards of the week with a -4 lb weight loss!!!!

Before I go let me ask for prayers for the people effected by the hurricanes, my good friend Grace H. for one I have not heard from her since Hurricane Rita hit, and I am very worried about her and her family.
She lives about 6 miles outside of Beaumont which I understand was hit hard by Hurricane Rita. Please keep her and her family as well as all those effected by Hurricane Rita and or Katrina in your prayers, thank you.

until next week Best wishes to all pre-ops and post-ops were ever you are on your Journeys.God Bless ~~~~~ Maureen
