Appointment with my PCP

Nov 22, 2010

So I went to my appointment yesterday and it went well! I'm so thankful to have found this PCP, she seriously is the best most caring doctor I have ever had!! She takes her time and makes sure to go over everything and ask me how I feel and whats changed since the last time I was there and she doesn't rush out of there in a hurry like most have just because of my weight. So anyways when I first got to triage they checked my BP and the first nurse looked kinda worried so I was thinking ok it must be high or something so she checked it again and then said hold on let me make sure that's right and she went and got another nurse to come check it and my BP was low well that nurse went and got my PCP to come and check it and after my PCP checking it twice it was for sure low for me 108/50. I don't know why it was so low? Anyways I told her about my legs getting worse and recently these bumps have came up on them which she told me where skin raises and they were just filled with fluid, I also told her about the place I found that does lymphedema therapy so she gave me the referral, I'm just waiting on them to call me about when I need to go and what not. I also told her that the lexapro, amrix and ryboix she gave me were all too much for me to pay a month so she switched me to prozac, flexeril, and tramadol, she also gave me an antibiotic she wants me to take for a while since I have this place on my back that won't heal all the way and she said it should keep other things from coming up, I can't remember the name though, I had to wait to get that script filled since I paid 292.00 for the visit and my other meds came to 30.00, all I had left was 20.00 for gas, so I will have to get them this Friday. She also told me why I was itching so bad everywhere and my nails being so thin, its from my thyroid, which I had no clue caused all that lol. Oh and the other day my ssi lawyer sent me papers to have my PCP fill out and send back about me being disabled, she said when she is done with them she is going to fax them then mail me a copy and save one for her records too. She was worried about my chest hurting so much which is just from me being nervous and having bad panic attacks so she ordered a EKG along with some blood work to check my blood count again, kidneys, cholesterol? and some more things I can't remember haha. Oh and she told me my blood count from when I went back in September and she checked it, it was only a 10 which is up 6 since my blood transfusions and the end of June. My mom wasn't to happy with that number, she always worries about my blood being low and she thinks its lower now that what it was in September, since I am having dizzy spells, head aches and cramps again like I was back in June. I hope it's not though, but I'll find out in a few days, the results of everything. So yeah that was pretty much it, I'm excited about the lymphedema therapy and the chance that my legs will get some relief but I'm worried about how its going to be and if they have a bed big enough for my size or how ever they do it and I hope I can get in the program they have for low income/ no insurance people, if not then I won't be able to go since it's 300 every visit! My fingers are crossed though :)
