Jay Jan Dr. Jan is a nice doctor and he listened to my concerns about surgery. I was really nervous on my surgery day but after meeting with him in the morning I felt very relaxed and felt like I was in good hands. The surgery went well and when I saw him the next morning he basically let me decide when I wanted to leave the hospital and let me make the decisions on what I wanted to do according to how I was feeling. Great surgeon!!

**March 10, 2007: I finally have lost over the 100 pound mark!! I was down to this mark back in December 2006 but I have been fortunate to find a member that wa able to make me a century club card...thank you dark eyes!
I went to Portland at the beginning of this month for my 9 month check up and I weighed in at 198 pounds....today I am at 196. I can't remember when I was ever this small...I am only 40 pounds more than my 13 y/o son. I have also bought a pair of misses size 12 jeans and they actually fit..OMG! The surgeon said my labs look good and I know I have been feeling great. I have been trying to exercise everyday with running every other day.
I still haven't had the hungry feeling come back. Actually I still have to fight myself to eat to get my protein in each day. I have to keep myself on track with my eating schedule of every 3 - 3 1/2 hours.
So to sum it all up I am officially down 127 pounds and only 46 pounds away from my goal of 150.
**November 4: I weighed myself today and I was at 223.5 pounds. I am SOOOO excited because I am only a half a pound away from the century mark! I have been doing good with taking my vitamins and I still use a protein supplement along with working out on the toal gym, gazelle and treadmill. I haven't noticed much hair loss or maybe it is just I had a lot of hair to begin with. Over the last couple of weeks I have received more compliments on how I look...from men and women. Weird...cuz I look at myself and still see the exact same person that still needs to lose a bunch of weight. My parents live in Alabama (I'm in Idaho) and I want to try to go and see them on Christmas break so I have set a goal of being down to 200 pounds by Christmas. I won't be upset if I don't make it cause I am not even sure I will be able to afford to get down to see them with the increase in airfare...if not I want to see them early next year...maybe around spring break time.
**October 27, 2006: I am down to 227 pounds today. I went a month or so where I had no weight loss...guess this is called a plateau. I have come to a point where I m doing good taking my vitamins and keeping up on my protein. I am working out pretty much each day by either doing the total gym, the gazelle or treadmill. I can now fit into a size 18 jeans...even a size 16 jeans in Levis. I can't ever remember when I could do that!
**September 1, 2006: I am down another 5 pounds this morning to 245 (YYYYEEEESSSSSSSS)!!!!! I can hardly remember when I was at this weight...I think it was back in 1998 and that was due to being on diet medication and this was the point at about when the medication stopped working and my weight went back up plus more. My husband and son can now get their arms around me for a hug now. My husband says that it feels like a different person when we are....well you know :) I am still having a hard time with the vitamins and that is a challenge each day. I really have to find a better way to get them all in everyday.
**September 11, 2006: I am down to 242 pounds today. I really haven't been exercising at all this week. I only went swimming one day. I need to get back on track with my exercise and get this weight off. This last weekend I bought some Nectar Protein at the Vitamin Shoppe (Twisted Cherry) and I just couldn't stand it. It tasted like you were sucking on plastic. I plan on returning that this weekend and trading for some of the Isopure Zero Carb 40g bottled protein.
**August 4, 2006: It has been about three weeks since I updated my profile on OH. I weighed myself today and I was 262 so that makes a loss of 37 pounds since surgery. This week was a real challenge for me. I was gone out of town on business for three days. I didn't realize how hard it was to eat when you are out of town and have to eat out at all your meals. I eanded up going to the deli and getting some sliced turkey and cheese and making some roll ups for dinner each night. I ate for three days on about $15.00 for the total time...that's a first! When I was out of town I even exercised and did laps in the pool at the hotel. I am feeling really good the last couple of weeks. There is still one priority problem I have to deal with...I have to find some sort of hobby to keep me busy when I am at home on the weekends and in the evenings. When my husband and my son are both gone I am just so bored and I keep going to the fridge and looking for food. I don't eat nothing but I make many trips back and forth to the kitchen. I have never had the time or the energy in the past to have a hobby but now I need to find something I can get into. I am thinking about attending a karate class I heard about in my town. I am a little nervous cause of how I look and I am just sure that everyone else will be mega skinny there...just me being self conscious. I will keep you updated on what I find out about the class.
**August 11, 2006: Today's weight was 258...that's down 4 pounds in the last week. I have been feeling good but having a hard time with all the vitamins. Some of the pills are really big and hurt my throat when I swallow them. I have tried crushing the calcium but that is so gross. I guess I am left to trying the chewable Citracal. The total calories I will be eating with the calcium will be 140 but that means I will have to bump up my exercise to accomodate the increase. I know I have to take the vitamins so I don't see any other choice. I am still having a hard time getting in all my protein especially when most things don't taste very good. Also, I have been having this feeling that I am never hungry and it is a struggle to remember to eat. I am still doing water aerobics but I have been laxed on the treadmill and not doing what I should be doing. But that now needs to stop! I need to get back on track with my exercise, take my vitamins and eat all my protein each day. My goal for the coming week is to follow the above plan each day and see how that goes.
**August 18, 2006: Weight today is 253...down 5 pounds since last week.
**August 25, 2006: Weight today is 250..down another 3 pounds since last week. I am little over two months post op and from the chart of weight loss I found on OH I am pretty much on track. I know that if I can start back on my exercise after I get done moving I should have a good weight loss. I haven't been feeling very hungry this week so it has been a chore to get my protein in. I know I haven't got it rom my regular food so I have been eating a half of a protein bar for each of my snacks.
