Why Pray For WLS....

Dec 29, 2009

Hey Fam.  I  have been in a complete and utter funk this past couple of days.  I  waited till now to post, cause I had a few OH friends that were headed into their WLS on the 28th and I didn't want to post until I knew that they were OK.

On Sunday, a good friend of mines lost his one year old son.  This guy was the best father you could imagine.  His son was sick on the 25th, so his wife took him to Urgent care at Kaiser.  He was diagnosed with a common cold and sent home with instructions to give Motrin or Tylenol. On Sunday, they were back there because he had not improved.  Their appointment was at 4:45 PM.  They were there around 3:00 PM.  They were told they would have to wait.  The father was holding his son as he slept and he would periodically put his head to the child's to test for fever.  This particular time, he noticed that his son was not breathing.  He alerted the medical staff and his son was taken in the back to be worked on.  It was too late.  He had died in his father's arms.  Kaiser transported the child by ambulance to a nearby Hospital; to which, he found out today the reason for  transporting him was because they (Kaiser) did not have the right equipment.
It's all such a tragedy.

I was told the news via phone while I was in Target.  For one hour I walked around dazed. Bumping into many of the shoppers.  Somehow,  I even lost my wallet.  Since then, I have been emotionally pigging out.  I have lost sight of my goals.  So  this brings me to this.....OH Fam, why am I praying that things workout with my WLS.  Why?  Why? Why?  I won't anymore.  I'll be praying for my friend and his wife.  I'll be praying for their daughter. I'll be praying that one day he'll forget the moment that his son died in his arms.  I'll pray for the gaping hole that now surrounds them.

Why pray for WLS?....
