Home From The Hospital

Feb 18, 2010

Hi everyone I am home from the hospital and not feeling to horribly bad. I will say that Monday after surgery was hands down the worse pain in my entire life lol. Just kept telling myself the pain is temporary the outcome is for life :-) I am over happy to be home with Jason and Kaylee and especially our pillowtop bed lol. My back is still screaming from the concrete torture devices they stick us in at the hospital lol.
I spent the entire stay in ICU; not that anything was wrong just precaution because I don't have spleen so Dr. McBean just wanted to ensure I was okay. He did however give the okay to move me to the regular floor on Wednesday but they didn't have any open beds so I stayed in ICU can't complain though it was nice getting special treatment. The entire staff at UPMC-Greenville was incredible.
I didn't react to well to the PCA pump of Morphine; for me it just didn't help the pain just made me drowsy and restless and irritated. So they changed it to another medication but in the meantime I was in intense pain for roughly 10-15 minutes while it was brought up. I was pretty well out of it by the end of the day and slep the entire afternoon and night. Did do a lot of walking was woken up at 130am and 330am to walk (yay I wasn't thrilled about that at all)....needless to say by Wednesday I was doing everything by myself and didn't really require any assistance other then my shots and crap that I couldn't do myself lol.
The ride home I will admit was really hard and I am so happy we don't live that far from the hospital because I don't know if I could of handled a longer ride at all. Jason bless his heart only went 25 the entire ride home lol. I am doing a lot better though and just so extremely happy to be home finally :-)
