Hello All,
Well I started studing about WLS in 1999. I went to a seminar that year and low and behold found out my insurance will not cover any wls or anything pertaining to weight issure.:(
I am on my husbands insursance policy. He cannot change, it is through his work. I work part time and don't receive benefits. Now I need a total hip replacement, and am having a hard time getting around, and hard to loose when I cant barely walk. I do swim when the pain level is not to bad. I have been to 2 of the best orthapedic surgeons, and said they would not do the hip surgery until I lost 80 lbs. I did loose 50 through Medifast products but not enough to have the hip surgery, then I gained the weight back. My nephew had the VGB and has had great success. I am still not real sure of that one. I have been to a few other wls seminars. Without insurance coverage for the surgery I feel like I am in a pickle. I have been adivsed to take out a loan, if there were complications from the surgery not sure my insurace would cover since it does not cover the WLS.
Hope I did not dump to much. It is just so discouraging when a person is overwieght and on top of that cant get around to do the thing I want to do as a normal person with my hip needing replaced.
I hope & pray something would turn around for me. You hear of good stories and that is what I want.
