31 lbs down

Aug 07, 2010

So at this point I've been approved for surgery by both the surgeon and my insurence company, when I saw Dr. Kemmeter in June he told me that because I'm narrow hipped (no one in my entire life has ever described anything about me as narrow) the surgery would be much more successful if I could lose up to 10% of my body weight before it, so immediately we decided for me to go on at 1200 calorie diet with at least 60 grams of protein a day and under 200 carbs, his goal was for me to lose at least 20lbs before I went on the supervised 800 calorie diet.  So far I've lost 31 lbs....this is mostly due to the fact I've been waiting longer to have the surgery because my Vitamin D and Vitamin A counts were low, they put me on 5000 a day of D and 10000 a day of A, I've read on here that that will never be enough but I figured I'd follow the doctors orders at this point.  Talked to his cordinator (or whatever she's called) and she said they weren't terribly low to begin with but just not where they should be for someone who's going into a DS.  I had my blood drawn today so I'm waiting for that to come back, I can only pray that everything comes back ok.
