May I have your attention please!!!
Thank you. Now that I have your attention, I am very pleased to announce that I now have a date!! Yes, I said I have a date!! In fact I have 2 out of 3 dates.
I went to see my surgeon today and just got back a few minutes ago. Just when I thought I had jumped thru all the hoops and was finally going to get my surgery, I was thrown a curve ball. I have to have more testing. Yep!! More testing!! Actually a test and a proceedure, but evidently with my surgeon it's just all routine. First, I have to have a bone density test done. Because I have osteoperosis he wants to know how bad it is so he knows what type of calcium treatment to prescribe me. They need pre-authorization from the insurance on that so they will call me later with that date. Next, I need to have a filter put in to help prevent any clots from reaching my lungs. He said because of my BMI combined with sleep apnea it's routine. I have that done on Nov. 15 thru outpatient surgery. Finally, On Nov. 20 I will have my WLS. I was hoping to have it done before Thanksgiving and it looks as tho I get my wish.
I have already done my shopping. I have all my soups, SF popsicles, SF jello, Crystal Lite, and plenty of Fruit 2o. I even got some diet V-8 Splash. My fridge makes cold water and ice (both cubed and crushed). I made chicken and beef broth without any salt and froze it in ice cube trays. I have lots of protein samples, some liquid protein, and my vitamins. I bought some rubber coated baby spoons and some sippy cups. I have been practicing taking insanly small bites, chew chew chew, and sip sip sip. I have written letters to all my loved ones. I have a list of what I want to pack for the hospital (chapstick, iPod, a couple of magazines, my pillow, c-pap mask {they will provide the machine} and my hubby & best friend). I have a prescription for my bowel prep and antibiotics. Have I forgotten anything??
