One More Doctor's Appointment!

Nov 07, 2010

I have one more doctor's appointment which is this week on Friday, November 12th & then my paperwork will be submitted for approval! I have been asked if I know for sure that December 7th will be my surgery date. My response has been that I have already claimed it!!! God is going to see me through. I'm staying prayerful, positive and optimistic about being approved by good ole Cigna! I'm praying they don't find any reason to reject any of my paperwork. I've done everything that I was supposed to do so I am confident that things shall work out.

October was super busy for me and November seems to be following the same trend. The day I found out my surgery date, the first thing that came to mind was the expenses that I would have to pay out of pocket. Although Cigna covers a majority of the surgery, I still have a few doctor's fees to take care of before I have the surgery. I also have to purchase the things I will need post surgery. If that isn't enough, I found out that I have to have a tooth pulled, which I will be having done tomorrow and there are fees involved with that procedure. I also have to take 2 of my children to the allergist and one to see a rheumatologist, which also involves fees! It it isn't one thing, it is another!

My household is a one income household due to me being a stay at home mom. My husband is the sole provider and Lord knows he does all that he can. Throughout the entire process of completing my requirements, I haven't had the heart to ask my husband for a penny unless absolutely necessary.  So I got creative & resourceful. The first thing I did was Cash for Gold at a reputable jewelery shop in my area. I cashed in every bit I could find. I goteven more creative & resourceful yet again when I found out my surgery date by having a Garage Sale. I've been having a garage sale every weekend since I received that phone call. It's been hard work and exhausting but I keep pushing! So far I done it 3 weekends in a row & I think next weekend might be my last or maybe not. I also participated in a huge consignment sale and the check for that came in the mail on Friday so I will be using that towards my surgery expenses also. The proceeds from the garage sale will hopefully help me with the dentist and my children's doctor's visits.

My mother has been supportive financially and emotionally. Her and my dad are on a fixed income and sometimes I feel guilty taking from them. All I know is that this surgery is something that I have got to do for myself so I can be better for my family! I will do anything at this point to make sure that nothing gets in the way of me having my big day! With that in mind, I may continue to SELL SELL SELL! Wish me luck!
