Type II Diabetes...Type Annoying!

My blood sugar levels are quite out of control! My doctor is adding Byetta (an injection) to the Metformin I am already taken. Metformin is making me sick. It gives me severe diarrhea and horrible stomach cramps. The doctor knows this but she said just try to take it. I've been "trying" to take it since July! Mind you, I already have issues with loose bowels and stomach problems. I suffer from acid reflux and I have a hiatel hernia, taking Metformin only aggravates everything. Geesh! I am scheduled to see the endocrinologist on November 30th. Until then I'm stuck with Metformin. I might be going on insulin, which was discussed before. Ideally my primary care physician wants my blood sugar levels down before surgery which is in 14 days.The doc called in a prescription for Byetta and I went to the pharmacy to pick it up. A whooping $654.00 without insurance. With insurance it would cost me about $150.00, which I really don't have right now. Luckily and through the grace of God the doctor has samples in her office which I can pick up for FREE!!! Sounds good to me! I love Dr. DelFavero. She really is a sweetie! Although I am quite frustrated about the elevated blood sugar levels and the yucky Metformin, she's been so patient, understanding and supportive. She's been having her assistant call and check on me since last week!
On the bright side, I am headed to attend my 4yo daughter's school performance. It's a music program for Thanksgiving called, "We Are Thankful For the USA." So proud that she knows every single word for every song they are singing! Yippee! We practiced last night. For the performance they have to be dressed in red, white and blue. My lil lady looked so cute, if I must say so myself! She gave me a hard time about putting a skirt on her, whew! It was such a struggle. I don't know why she is going through this "I don't want to wear skirts" dilemma but whatever, I won! She wore the skirt and said, "Mommy I like my skirt, it really looks cute!" Kids, especially girls! Oh the drama!
