6/14/11 - For whatever reason, I am just now writing on my blog page. Pre-ops were 6/8/11 and surgery is set for 6/21/11. Most of it had to be paid out of pocket as the insurance we have will not cover WLS. Guess we will have another great tax return next year as I plan on deducting out of pocket dr bills!! Husband is a Government contractor and thankfully we had a good tax return this year and it will cover most of the costs. Had to take out a small loan to make up the difference, but I know it will all be worth it in the end.Had a bit of a scare last night as I noticed white spots on the node things on the backside of my throat. Usually when I get those it means strep. Within an hour or so of seeing those, the side of my neck was sore and tight. Went to Urgent Care and strep test and blood bacteria test both came back negative. Dr. put me on antibiotic for sinus drainage and precautionary in case it was early strep and just wasn't registering on test. Called surgeon's office this a.m. to make sure this would not postpone surgery on Tues. As long as I am not running a fever I should be fine they said. PHEW! So glad!
Have had to rearrange the help we had lined up for while I am at the hospital. Husband returns overseas a few days before my surgery and have decided not to have the person here that we had lined up previously. So now instead of being at the hospital with me, my mom will have to be here with my kids and SIL. Trying not to stress over it all. I am used to having to do things for myself and on my own anyway, was just surprised my mom had planned on taking me and staying at the hospital with me, but now that isn't to be. May be for the better anyway. Trying not to dwell on it.
