on April 6, 2007 2:24 am
4/6/07 - My BandAnniversary is here!  I'm down to 170lbs - -64lbs.
My husband Alan had heart valve replacement surgery on March 19th - he's doing great - very stressful couple of months.  I maintained my weight - yipee!!!

NEW GOAL FOR MY SECOND YEAR - to loose another 30 lbs - to get to 140 (a normal BMI)!!!!!   Go, Betty!

1/22/07 - Well about 9 1/2 months out from surgery and am down to 173lbs........-61......yipee!  Exercising like a fiend!  Love the NIA class I go to 5 times a week - walk with my husband the other 2 days.  Who would have believed I would have become the Grammy jock!  Working on continuation of my weight loss and hope to get down to approx 150 lbs +/-?  Will see and decide when I get to where I feel comfy.

Starting weight - Day of Surgery (4/7/06) 234 lbs

Had no trouble the first 3 weeks on liquids..........hungry sometimes, but pretended that I wasn't!

Went on Mushies for a couple of weeks and then gradually on to solids.........very carefully............hungry at times, but so what!!!

Had my first fill at 5 weeks + a couple of days out - so far not much difference. I'm still pretending AND losing. So far, so good.

6 weeks post op (5/12/06 - 23lbs) 217Lbs

10 weeks post op (6/16/06 - 28.5lbs) 205.5lbs

15 weeks post op (7/21/06 - 33.5lbs) 200.5lbs

Weight loss is a bit slow, so have an appt for a fill next week.....so close to "onederland"................have not been below 200 for manyyyyyyyy years!

I had my 2nd fill about 2 weeks ago and am starting to feel some restriction. Have been doing a NIA class 2 times a week, strengh training 2 times a week and walking 2 times a week! (Yeah for me!).

Went below 200 at my 16th week - 198 lbs! yeah!

Aug 25-27 ......Went to the TJ Bandster Bash hosted by Dr. Kuri (not my surgeon, but went as a guest of a friend who had surgery by him) - it was so inspiring - met bandsters in all stages. He was a wonderful host and put on a great week-end party - food, drink (?), exercise, lectures..........so nice!

(9/1/06 - 43.5lbs) 190.5lbs - have had 3 fills, this one is tight!
I've become an exercise addict...........I miss it if I don't go - can't believe I'm saying that! Do NIA 4 times a week, walk at least once, do the strengh training class at least once (working on doing twice) and try to get the Core class in at least once!

(10/5/06 - 49lbs) 185lbs - Had a slow month weight wise.....but, not bad considering I was on vacation more than half of the month.....went to my nephew's wedding in San Diego and got home and then went to visit a friend on Martha's Vineyard!!! Was in an exercise challenge to exercise at least 15 days, at least 30 min......I did it - just
