I called Dewanna at Dr. Clements office, she sent the insurance papers to Blue Cross on June 27. I called my insurance (number on back of card) and she told me that they had just recieved it and that it was still in review. The lady I talked with was Annette. She was very nice. Maybe I will find out something soon.

Ok I have big news and BIGGER news. I called Blue Cross today. The Lady said that I should get a letter in a couple of days that I have been APPROVED!!!!!! I freaked out!!! OK the bigger news. I called Dewanna (the insurance lady at Dr.Clements) and told her that I was approved. I said, "Do you have to have the approval letter for me to get my second appointment?" and she said yes. And so I said "Well I am bringing my sister for her first appointment Next Monday, August 23 and I was hoping I could get my second appointment then." And here's the biggy, she says ok come in with your sister Monday at 1:00, and I will set your surgery date for the 31st. I was like uuhhhhhhhhhh the 31st of August? And she said YES!!!! Oh my, I really freaked out! I was shocked, excited and scared, all at once. WOW! I can't believe I am having surgery 2 weeks from today!!!! I have prayed that everything would fall into place and that I wouldn't have to wait long. I guess my prayers are being answered. I just pray that everything goes great and I have no problems.

I went to my 2nd appointment today with Dr.Clements. I have been really scared and haven't been sleeping well.I weighed first and have lost 2 lbs since my 1st visit. Teresa took my before picture and then Dr.Clements came in to talk with me. He went over my list of questions with me and answered them all. He said that he couldn't promise that I wouldn't have complications but that he could promise that he would do his very best,and that he doesn't take this surgery lightly. I feel alot better after talking with him. I have had doubts and fears but everyone says I wouldn't be normal if I didn't. I did think about running out of there as fast as I could a couple of times. But I am really ready to lose this weight and get healthy. After seeing Dr.Clements they sent me to the 1st floor to talk with the anesthesiologist. Then to the 2nd floor for more blood work. It was just a little stick, not bad at all. Now all I have to do is be at the hospital at 7:00. I will be his 2nd surgery of the day.

It has been a busy day. I didn't sleep very well last night. I can't believe that my surgery is in the morning!!!!!!!! I had to go to Birmingham to get more blood drawn. They said that I have antibodies in my blood and they have to match them just in case I needed blood. I have been on liquids today and had to drink the mag.citrate at 3:00. YUCK!!!! It was sour and gross. But I did it. Boy does it work. I am packing now and getting everything ready. I can't believe that the next time I post I will be a loser!!! It seems like everything is happening so fast now. I pray that God has brought me to it, and he will bring me through it. I have recieved so many well wishes. They mean so much to me. Thanks to all!! I can't believe this is really happening. I will update soon.
