 I have been waiting since July 18Th 2011 to begin my Journey. That was the day I had my first meeting with the team at St. Joseph's Back in October 2010 I was referred to the clinic by my family doctor. For some reason they were given my number and because I didn't have voice mail I never was contacted again. I was just so happy to finally be back on track again in July. At the time we were told the wait was anywhere between 4-6 months if all went well with all the tests and appointments.
My appointments began October26, 2011 with the RN and Dietitian. November 2, 2012 I had the E.C.G. and Bloodwork (18 tubes). November 14th 2011 for the Ultra Sound. November 21 with the Medical Internist. November 25, 2011 with the Psychiatrist.
It was seemed like a long time to be waiting for the sleep test to be booked so I called in the clinic on January 18th (six months to the day of the orientation) and good job I did because although a requistion was sent in October no follow up had been done. The sleep clinic called me a week later and I went home with the sleep machine on January 31st. The results of that test got me a free night in the hospital for a further sleep study. To this date I have not heard anymore about it.
More time passed and I call the clinic again on February 23rd to see what was next. I was told that they are waiting on my stress test from my Cardiologist which the internest said she was requesting back in November. I called again two weeks later around March 22, 2012 but never got a call back.
So here I sit on April 10,2012 still waiting to hear something. I hate bothering people but it seems that if you don't do the calling you could be sitting forever for things to happen. It's feels like no one is really monitoring and following up on the process.
So if your just begining the process be prepared for a long wait. It is long past six months and in fact it will be 9 months in a few days :-(
I have to wonder if Dr. Anvari has even heard about me.
