**Scroll down to the bottom for MY STORY**
Hello there!! My name is Jamie and I live here in Alaska. I had RNY surgery in 2002. I did not find this awesome website until the fall of 2005, when I found out that I was pregnant with my first child. I stumbled upon the post-op pregnancy message board, and it was a TRUE GOD SEND for me. I was very concerned about my unborn child getting enough nourishment from my "altered" body. It was there, that I became HOOKED on the OH website and the wonderful people on it, and I have never looked back!!! Then, in 2009, I started posting on the Revisions message board, and the rest they say, is history!!! AND, FINALLY, I had my RNY to DS revision 12/29/11!!!!!!!!
Stalled since 3/18/12 5 days ago
I have been stalled for 2 months, and it is FRUSTRATING!!!!! I got to 210, and for the last 2 months, my weight has not dropped. I hover between 211-218. I KNOW that stalls are a part of the process, and I have been TRYING to be patient too. But 2 whole months??!!?? GEEZE!!!!!
In other news, I have my pre-op scheduled the end of July for my hernia repair surgery. SO NOT looking foward to another surgery, but it is what it is.

Hernia and surgeon update on April 10, 2012 11:38 am
Yes, it is a hernia, a HUGE hernia. Unfortunately, since I developed an infection in my incision back in January, they do not want to do the hernia repair for 6 months from January (End of July or August). Due to me being at a HIGHER risk for infection if they do the repair now. Which the surgeon does not want to do now.

Hernia diagnosed on March 25, 2012 9:08 pm
I have discovered that I have a HUGE hernia under my breastbone where my incision starts. Currently, with the job I have in a warehouse, I cannot go back to work due to the continous heavy lifting requirements(still on FMLA from my revision surgery in December.... and then the complications kept me off of work longer..... now this.....)
So I have a consult set up with a surgeon on April 9th, and will more than likely need to have surgery to correct the hernia.

My Story I finally won the insurance company and had my RNY to DS revision with Dr. Ara Keshishian December 29,2011.
I take my protein & vitamins religiously, and I get my labs done, so if there is anything I need to tweak, I know about it. I have a really neat spreadsheet of sorts that all of my labs are put on, so, if there are any trends, I can see it.
My biggest thing for me, is that I have gained back alot of weight. I am 9 years out, but, I have been at this weight since probably 3 years out. I have been maintaining in the 230's for 6+ years, and my weight will not go down & stay down. I have dieted, dieted, and dieted. I need to do SOMETHING to get my weight back off, and be at a healthy weight. After some soul searching, and blaming myself for failing, I wanted to research, to see if this had happened to other people with the RNY. As it turns out, it has. So, I decided that I did not want a revision to my RNY. And I stumbled on to the DS. I was looking for other avenues, not necessarily surgery, I started back with my PCP for ACCOUNTABILITY for myself in January '09, and he started me on Phentermine to control my appetite, and to give me more energy, we also talked about nutrition, and just everything that I needed to "get off my chest" about my weight, and how it affected me. From before I had my weight loss surgery, and after I had lost weight, and how I felt now, with having gained. It was a HUGE, HUGE step for me. I have been going in monthly to talk to him, and get weighed. Anyways, since then, I have seen a nutritionist about my eating as well. I started a journal with my intake of food, water, and exercise I was doing as well. I told her that one of my big downfalls is starving myself. I started "crash dieting" with my mom when I was at 175 pounds, and I was 12 years old, back in 1983-1984. You know, before all of those studies came out, about how BAD that was, and how you would "kill" your metabolism, because your body would go into starvation mode and hang on to EVERYTHING.
And I also started seeing a therapist to talk about things that went on in my life, and how I felt like I had "failed" with my weight loss, and the regain. (I have done a ton of resreach and found out that "I" did not fail my surgery, but my surgery choice of the RNY failed ME!!!!!!! Click this link: http://www.dssurgery.com/about/publications/duodenal-switch- safe-operation.pdf). I talked to him quite openly about all of it. The loss of self esteem, having thoughts of not wanting to go out in public, because of my poor self image. And how I had wanted my weight loss surgery so bad in 2002, to change all of that, and now, it was all slowly creeping back into my life!!! (The loss of self esteem, having thoughts of not wanting to go out in public, because of my poor self image). We also talked about the positive things as well, with my marriage, and my 5 year old son. I talked to him about a revision as well.
So, I have been exploring the revision option, since I never did get down to my 'ideal' weight of the 130's.
My height is 5' 4". But, I had a height check at the doctor's office in June 2010, and "officially" I am 5' 3 & 3/4".
