Hi Stacy, I had lap RNY on 1/30/03 and I'm down 107 lbs! At four weeks, my doctor told me to start eating solid foods. He suggested salad and it was really easy for me to eat. I lived on chicken ceasar salad because the lettuce made the chicken easier to go down. I know some people can't tolerate salad right away..... you've really got to experiment and sometimes the results are unpleasant but IT DOES GET BETTER!!!! Best to you

Stacy: Big, gentle hug! How terrible to still feel nauseous! Please, please, PLEASE call your surgeon's office right away and let them know. They might say 'oh, it will go away' or ask you to come in just to be cautious. REGARDLESS, you don't have to suffer! REquest some anti-nausea meds PRONTO! You have to get food in, especially immediately post-op (protein!) to ensure healing!!!!! I can understand your problem a bit - I had terrible nausea my first two days post-op from this recent surgery (hernia repair/abdominoplasty). This had never happened to me before! I was miserable!!! So, please - get anti-nausea meds -- request them SPECIFICALLY. There is NO NEED for you to be suffering this far out! Even if it does 'go away on it's own', you should not be nauseous and need to eat! Please post on your progress and hope you feel better SOON! All the best,

First of congrats on your surgery. I am glad that you came through without any serious problems. I too am having the surgery because I was diagnosed with diabetis, I already had hypertension. I am glad to know that it does get better down the road. Take care and good luck to you.

Hi Stacy, I read your post today about how your feeling. Yeah, things will get better. It may not feel like it will, but it will. LOL I was feeling!$#^$*@&&# big times at first. and this was for two months. then one day I notice that I wasn't in pain ANYMO LOL that's more. the weak feeling , side hurting, vomiting, gagging, nausea, etc,, will all go away. I had big time problems with being nausea, and smells, I picked up on all the smells that was out there, even the nurses who wore perfumes, made me sick. Doc said must of the problem was from me having a hard time with, withdrawing from all the meds and anesthesia they had used. I tell ya, it stayed in my body for a long time even after I came home. It kicked my butt, I even had a hard time remembering things. Oh well, I hope you start feeling better soon. Try not to get depressed about it. When I find myself trying to get depressed I will try to focus on something eles and think about how blessed Im really am. It could of been worse, like coma, or death.etc.. So I thank God I made it on the losing side without no complications. You take care and hang in there girlie. ~*Hugs~*~
