One week away

Nov 21, 2014

Well, after researching and putting off and researching some more, I'm finally doing it.  Everything is done for my gastric sleeve and my surgery date is Dec. 1.  Right now I feel like the surgery is the easy part.  I'm so ready for that.  What I'm supposed to do after that...not so much.  Sooooo many questions, so it's really going to be trial and error for a while.  The main thing is trying to figure out what to eat.  I've been told plenty of times that my tummy will let me know what it wants and will behave badly when I give it something it doesn't want, but I don't want to be planted next to the bathroom for the next two months, so I need to get it figured out.  Sure I've been to all the nutrition classes, but now it's for real for real and I have to put it into action.  I can do it...it's just and unknown right now.  Any sleevers out there that have any tips...I'm open for suggestions.  Other than that, the only other problem is figuring out what medications I have that can be crushed and which ones can't. I haven't figured it out on my own, so I'm going to take my bag o'pills up to the pharmacy tomorrow and ask them.  Dr. Internet can't tell me everything after all.

Well that's my tale for now.  This is my first blog too, so at the ripe old age of 33 (twice) I'm doing new things.  I plan to keep doing that for a long time.  I have things to cross off my list that I couldn't do because of my size.  This is going to help me with that and get me back to where I can be comfortable.  Not skinny, just want to be able to walk and not need a rest stop after 10 feet.  Time for more Optifast.  Anyone that has to do it and hasn't bought theirs yet, here's a tip...don't get the tomato soup.  Tastes like paint remover.

Take care everyone and best of luck with your respective procedures.
