Some people are just plain mean and spiteful!

So we were sitting at Dairy Queen last night with some people, and one of my hubby's friend's wife was there and we got on the topic of weight loss etc.  Well of course hubby slips and says "Tasha is trying to have WLS done" and the girl looks at me and was like "What? You are NOT that big, there are bigger people in this world that need it, you can lose the weight yourself if you tried hard enough, i lost 65lbs all by myself"  I was in utter shock and awe.  I mean she doesn't know me, she has no idea the ways i've tried to lose weight and how it's yo=yo'd back and forth my entire life!  I know one reasone people think i do not need it is because i'm tall and no one can even guess that my weight is almost 300lbs.   I have always "worn my weight well" as if it's a shirt or something! 

Her comment really cut me a bit!  After that I saw two very obese women, they were probably twice my size and i couldn't help but doubt my decision a little bit.  Could i really try one more time to lose the weight?  The most i have ever lost is 40lbs and even then i'd still be 70lbs over weight!  Her comment almost made me feel guilty because my insurance will pay for it, and that I was taking an easier way out...I KNOW fromt he research that it is by NO means easier at all, i will have to change my eating habits and lifestyle for the rest of my life.  There will be no slipping and having a soda or a piece of cake or a candy bar, i will have to eat small meals the rest of my life and drink water constantly, i will have to plan my meals out if going anywhere or going out to eat, this by no means is EASIER at all, if anything it's just a quicker way to lose weight faster and that is it!

Ugghhh I really hate that I let her get to me like this.  I'm gonna go look at some before/after pictures and remind myself the reasons behind choosing to go through with RNY!!!!
