Surgeon TestimonialGeorge G. Zorn M.D.POST-OP InformationrnDr. Zorn continues to be a great doctor, listener and just there for you. Dr. Zorn has a professional and personal bedside manner that makes it easy to go through the procedure from beginning to end. Dr. Zorn, the other doctors and staff at Pacific Bariatric are very easy to be comfortable around and to talk to. Pacific Bariatrics provides a monthly seminar at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel near Disneyland each month. The seminar details the gastric bypass and other surgeries as well as the pros and cons. The doctor providing the presentation sticks around after the presentation in case anyone wants to ask questions. All of Pacific Bariatric doctors are great and they rotate in conducting the monthly seminars.rnI will try to create some flyers to display at the monthly seminar for those interested in joining a pre-op and/or post-op Support Group. Good luck in all your future endeavors!rnrnPRE-OP InformationrnrnI met Dr. Zorn for the first time at the Pacific Bariatric Annual Reunion in San Diego on April 27, 2007. Dr. Zorn is a patient doctor who has listened, responded to questions and made time for me. His office staff is very very helpful. I don't have any dislikes for Dr. Zorn. rn

Hi. My name is Terry and I had the gastric bypass, RNY procedure, on August 10, 2007 at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California. Dr. Zorn of Pacific Bariatrics Medical Group performed my gastric bypass. Dr. Zorn is a very compassionate and professional surgeon who makes you feel like a person and he is very comfortable to talk to. My highest weight 286 and my goal is 140.
I became an ObesityHelp Support Group Leader in April 2009.
Orange County WLS Support Group meets in the Community Room on the 2nd Saturday of each month at Kaiser OHP, 200 N. Lewis St., Bldg. 1, Orange, CA 92868. You do NOT have to be a Kaiser patient to attend this support group. Back-on-Track starts at 8:15 am and this session is for those who are 1-year+ post-op.
The regular meeting starts at 9:30 a.m., however, not everyone can make it right at 9:30 am due to traffic and work schedules. It is okay to be late.
It is good to check out various groups and meetings as they are all different and unique with people who have had weight loss surgery (WLS), thinking of having WLS and/or just people who want to meet others in similar situations. Go to the GROUPS and select the city nearest you to determine the best location to attend a meeting. If you select Garden Grove, you will see my group listed.
Good luck to those of you who have not yet had WLS and also to those who have and are still going strong!

TIME FOR AN UPDATE 10/12/2010 on October 12, 2010 3:50 pm
Hello Everyone! I hope this email finds all of you happy and healthier.
I continue to faciliate my OC WLS Support Group on the 2nd Saturday of each month in Orange, CA. The group continues to grow in numbers and lessens in size. It is great! Last month we had about 72 attendees and this month I stopped counting at 51.
I started going to hitthemarkfitness (beach body workout) two days ago and my body hurts everywhere! I knew I was out of shape, just didn't know how much. It is a tough 5:30 a.m. workout, but it is worth the soreness/stiffness especially if it keeps me from going off the successful WLS journey. For those of you who know me, know that I love See's candy. However, I don't think I will ever touch it again and if I should it will be a very long time from now because the workouts are killing me and those pieces of very rich, high calorie candies are just not worth it. Instead, I am back to my good snacks like yogurt and strawberries or blueberries, string cheess and PROTEIN comes FIRST.
I missed the last LB Coffee because I attended my son Joe's and his fiance Alyssa's going away party. They moved near Austin Texas. I hope to make it to this month's meeting. Not sure if it will continue to be on the 4th Saturday or not, especially since the last Saturday in October is Halloween eve.
Wishing everyone continued success on their amazing weight loss surgery (WLS) journey!
Terry

July 2010 Update on July 8, 2010 10:03 am
Hello Everyone! I just wanted to give a quick update, espcially since I corrected my account to reflect that I had an RNY and not lap band and/or sleeve. Not sure how the information changed. I probably did it inadvertently and never even knew it until a couple days ago when I was looking at my account and profile.
I am almost three (3) years out. Dr. Zorn performed my surgery on August 10, 2007. My highest weight 286, My current weight fluctuates between 156 - 160 and my goal is 140. In December 2009, I have a tummy tuck, breast augmentation/lift and am doing very well. I love my plastic surgeon because he is patient and safety is number one with him.
I continue to facilitate my support group, OC WLS Support Group, on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at the Kaiser located at 200 N. Lewis, Bldg. 1, Orange, CA 92868 (cross streets: Chapman and Lewis). This meeting is for anyone who wants to attend whether or not pre-op, post-op or just thinking about losing weight. You do NOT have to be a Kaiser patient. Also, the people who attend this support group are fun and we all learn from each other.
On July 16, 2010, I will have my left ear drum reconstructed due to infection and deterioration. I should only be out of work for a couple of weeks and definitely plan to continue with my August Support Group. The next support group meeting is Saturday, July 10, 2010.
Wishing everyone an amazing wls journey. And for those who are not having wls or might be waiting then I am sending you best wishes in whatever decision you make. Each person should make their own decision as to what they want to do relative to losing weight and/or maintaining weight because each person is unique and individual. Whatever decision you make is the right decision.
Hugs to All,
Terry

May 21-22, 2010 OH Event/Plastic Surgeon Works... on May 10, 2010 11:52 am
Hello Everyone!
I wanted to share with everyone that Dr. Bain, Plastic Surgeon, will be one of the four plastic surgeons at the ObesityHelp Event on May 21-22, 2010 in Costa Mesa. Dr. Richard Lee (my plastic surgeon), Dr Agha and Dr. Katz will also be at the OH Event.
You do not have to be a weight loss surgery (WLS) patient to attend the OH Event in May 2010.
Dr. Bain's talk on Saturday, May 22 at 2:55 pm in the Pacific Ball Room will be about working with insurance companies to obtain approval for plastic surgery. Dr. Bain works with his patients and patients insurance companies to help the patient gain approval for plastic surgery especially after WLS.
All the plastic surgeons will be at the OH Event. It is really important to speak with several plastic surgeons before making a final decision as to who you will have as your plastic surgeon. Each surgeon is unique and offers different thoughts and opinions and has knowledge, skills and abilities to assist you in your quest for plastic surgery after WLS.
You can sign up for the OH Event scheduled for May 21-22, 2010 at the Hilton in Costa Mesa by going to obeistyhelp.com and clicking on community and then events. You will get a discount on your tickets if you use my code row10online.
Wishing you all success on whatever weight loss adventure that you seek.
Also, I facilitate a Support Group the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Kaiser Office located at 200 N. Lewis St., Bldg. 1, Orange, CA 92868. This support group is for anyone who would like to attend and you do NOT have to be a Kaiser patient to attend this meeting.
Hugs
Terry
