I just read about
your experiences
with the lap band.
i had the surgery
9/16/2005. It was
good to see some
real success. I
never feel hunger
physically, but my
mind always wants to
eat. I have lost 84
pounds, which my
surgeon says is
great, but I feel i
could eat less and
exercise more to
loose it faster, but
I cannot get over
the mental
temptation.
certainly, I cannot
eat the volume I
used to. but i worry
that i still eat too
much. My Doc will
not add fluid to the
band as long as I
contniue to show
good weight loss. I
feel like the will
is going to break
and I'm gonna try to
eat a "cow". Have
you gone through
this? How did you
deal with it?
Tessa,
I was wandering
around the boards
tonight and I came
upon one of your
posts. I'm from
Livermore, work in
San Ramon. I will
have my surgery
later in the month.

You will find a lot
of folks who live
near by and they
have get togethers
fairly often.
Pre-ops and post-ops
are all welcome.
From your profile it
sounds like you are
doing well. Keep up
the good work.

Today I start my journey OVER..I do not have my band anymore but I have made the call and am going to see Dr. Cirangle on the 18th to talk about my options. Gaining weight back is the worst thing ever!!
I had a slip..and didn't want to tell anyone i was not able to keep food down so I would eat and throw-up and finally it got to a point where my band had slipped to a point on my stomach where it shut it closed completely and I had no fill in my band at the time and I was unable to even drink liquids. I was 97 lbs when I had my band removed. I stayed in the hospital for 10 days and i was almost 120lbs the day i left. if you look at my pics i have one when i was TOO THIN. Well 8 months later i am back up to 175lbs so I can't do it on my own and now I am wanting VSG. My doc gave me the green light and just wants me to be sure i am ready to do this.
