One Month Surgi-versary & Dining out Dilemmas....

Apr 13, 2010

Ok!!! So today is my one month surgi-versary! WOOHOO ... let me be honest it feels like 3 months HA HA ... I started soft food two weeks ago, but I am going to try and stay in that zone for a little longer because I attempted some foods that didnt agree with me so much, so I am totally fine with it being a testing process!

My incisions are healing PHENOMENALLY!! I am so happy that they are healing so well and havent given me too many problems.  I definitely had a lot of bruising around my smallest scar on the left, but also that is where they pulled most of my stomach out of, so I would be amiss if it didnt hurt slightly!  Most of my pain was actually in my abdomen area and just felt like I had done a TON of crunches ... (in heinseit wouldnt it be fabulous if I had!)

Well I have had two really bad experiences with dining out recently.  My surgeon told me I could try to wat sushi rolls during my "soft foods phase" ... it didnt go as well as I had hoped, I ate two pieces and ended up scooting to the bathroom to throw it all right up :( I was SOOOO SAD ... I had to drink water for the rest of the night.

I find it really hard right now to hang out with my friends because a lot of our social activities revolve around going out to dinner or drinks or BOTH TOGETHER! I never realized how much I ate out! (the only upside is that my bank account is very happy!)

Hopefully this will change in time and I will be able to know what I can eat and what will upset my stomach a little better... another really hard thing is the whole not drinking for 15 before a meal and then no beverage during my meal and then waiting an additional 30 mins after my meal to have anything ... it is really quite annoying!!!

Anyway enough of my ranting ... I am off to the gym for another run! Wish me luck and here is to another successful month of weightloss!
