Out of the 200's!
on December 23, 2012 12:39 pm

I finally reached a small goal of mine to get out of the 200's on the scale. It's been so long. Last week was a very good week.

I am getting there... Feeling great! This was the best decision ever. 1 more pound to go and the 200's are out of my life for good.

Losing slowly but surely...
on November 19, 2012 10:22 am

I am not losing as fast as I thought I would. But, I am happy with that. I know I am doing all of the things that I am supposed to be doing. I have not yet been to the gym but plan to do so soon. I had some trouble with protein shakes but, tried one again this morning and so far so good. I love seeing the ticker move to the right of the page. So exciting. :)

My Story

My story......hmmmm !
I have been struggling with my weight for as long as I can remember. Most of my family members are thin and cannot understand my struggle.I am seeing what my struggle is doing to my youngest child and I realize that I need help. I have decided to go with the sleeve. I think this is the best tool for me.

Im finding that there are many people in this weight loss community that seem to be willing to help me. I also find that the support group I have been attending is a great place to get answers to my questions as well as the support I need to keep chugging away at my goal to be healthy.

My current insurance is Blue shield of California PPO. I am finding that the requirements for weight loss surgery consist of 6 consecutive months of documentation and weight loss monitoring from my MD, a nutritionist visit as well as a psychic evaluation. There are some other small requiremnts as well.

My original MD was not willing to allow me to have weight loss surgery even with my very high blood pressure so I had to find a new one. The first MD I found which was suggested by my surgeons office, didn't seem to know what to do as far as documentation and didn't seem willing to work with me to figure it out. Lost two months in that deal! My second and current MD tells me that he knows what to do. However he seems pretty forgetful when I go to my visits. He had asked me questions over and over again and doesn;t seem to look at his notes when I go to my visits. I have given him everything I can as far as print outs of insurance requirements as well as emails from the surgeons office. I am not sure he has kept the info and will make sure I re-print everything on my last visit (September 4th, 2012). Wish me luck!
