1st 5K since surgery

This morning I was woke up by this beautiful pic of the morning horizon from a very close friend who was out walking at like 7a. I recently joined a group here, Walking away the pounds, & the one the leader set up on FB also as a secret group. I got this friend to join also as she is struggling with her weight after 3 kids. Yesterday she text me & said she didn't think she's be able to hit the group goal (25 miles per week) as her history on her Bodybugg said she had only ever done a little under 6000 steps in a day & to hit the goal in a 7 day period is just under 7600 per day. I told her to start at say 5000 for a week & if she made it then move to like 6000, etc. Yeah I get this text then when she's done, she texts & reports on FB that she has done over 3000 steps already!!! Well, that got me out of bed! Then I log on here & see that Michael has been kicking butt & taking names & is very active & has lost 100lbs!!! What an inspiration. So I jump up grab my work out clothes & do a half mile warm up, week 1, & for me day 1 in full, of my sonic runner & then cool down at 3.0 walking pace until I hit 3.1 miles. I did it in 56 minutes, which I'm happy with considering this is my first 5K since surgery. Now the training really begins because I am signed up for The Color Run October 6th. I will run the entire thing!!Today I hit 191.00 & of course am anxious to get below 190 now...lol! I can now comfortably get into a couple pair of size 14 capris from old navy & bought a new belt. My energy level is up which in return means I have had a better attitude overall.
Life is good & I love my sleeve!
