Surgeon Testimonial

Christopher Evanson
Dr. Evanson is a great Dr. and surgeon. He is upbeat and very friendly. I only met him 2 times prior to surgery for about 10 minutes at the most each time. But I liked him. I didn't really have many health problems which kept my surgery pretty easy I think. I basically chose Dr. Evanson because one of my close friends used him as well as another aqaitence of mine had used him, so that was plenty of reassurance for me. The downfall to the whole process was I wish he was closer to where I lived so I did not have to drive 2.5 hours for appts. Overall, I am so far VERY satisfied!!! I am now 1 year post op and down 155 pounds!!!!! Thank you Dr. Evanson for helping me get my life back!!!

10 Months Post Op
on January 17, 2013 6:48 pm

Time has flown!!!! I am down 140 pounds and have passed my original goal weight of 180 pounds. Now weighing in at 150 pounds and holding. I really haven't lost much more weight, i think I have hit my max weight loss, or at least I think so. I think I have lost inches but not weight...I started at 291.5 pounds now at 150 pounds. I was in 26/28 skirts, 4x shirts. now I'm in a size 10/12 shirts, and medium shirt. My boobs have shrunk and look rather pathetic, lol...but I have dropped 3 bra sizes.. I went from a size 11 underwear to a size 7. my feet have even shrunk. almost 2 sizes!! It is crazy how much has changed.

I really have to watch myself, i find myself craving something to munch on, i was never much of a sweets person but more of a salty crunch muncher.....so i always keep fresh broccoli and cauliflower to munch on and also go to pretzels for the crunch and salt...and limit to 15 pretzels ONLY.....or do a couple of saltines..I feel great!!!  My hair is still really thin from lack of protien, but again still fine with me since it was so thick before.....i have people telling me now that i need to stop loosing weight that i look sick. but in my mind i'm still thinking I need to loose more, but really am happy with were I am at all the same. yeah i would like to get to a size 6 but for my height and body frame. Im comfortable with me now!! I do have spells of dizzy, lightheadedness, black out, but no one can figure out what is the cause, my low blood pressure, the low iron levels, they put me on folic acid because it was low as well. and upped my iron but i am still having the episodes.....maybe it' the new norm for me, i'm not sure.

hope all is well with everyone, have a great day...and happy loosing!

5 Months post op!!!
on August 10, 2012 9:23 pm
It seems like its been forever since I had my surgery, but it's only been 5 months. My starting weight was 291.5, and I am OFFICIALLY under 200 pounds!!!!!!! Total loss of 92.5 pounds!! I am so happy, although mentally I still feel I look like I did before. I started in size 26/28's now in 18 reg. or 16w, and an 4x to an XL in shirts. I have lost a lot of my hair. but really its fine by me because I had such thick hair before, but I don't have bald spots either. I still really don't eat a lot in a days time, I do tend to eat a lot of sugar free popcicles, mainly because my new tummy doesn't like some of the foods i try to eat. I am eating a lot of crab salad, tuna salad, as of lately. (not a lot at each setting) if i over eat or eat to fast, my body def. lets me know, as I start getting the foam and saliva build up, then i usually have to make myself go hug the toilet. That happens maybe 1-2 times a week. I am horrible, because I am a horrible pill taker and don't take my vitamins like I should...if at all most of the time. I definatly don't get enough protien either, but I do still try to get and choose higher protien foods. I can use a straw when drinking now, only if i suck the liquid up using the edge of my lip, then once the liquid has filled the straw then I will take a drink so i don't get the excess air in my pouch. still can't do pop/soda, I take sips  here and there just to get a taste, but it still bothers me.
I woulod like to loose at least another 50 pounds, my goal weight was 180 lbs, and technically I only have less than 20 pounds to go, but a even 50 sounds ok. If I get there, yeah me, but if not I am not going to beat myself up either. I have come this far.
Well I hope this is a good comparison!!

Day 1 Post-Op
on March 7, 2012 3:27 am
I am sitting here in the hospital, the morning after my RNY Gastric Bypass, The surgery its self lasted a little over an hour.  I feel pretty good for the most part.  My abdomen is a little tender, but I am trying not to use a lot of the pain meds, but most defiantly know when they have worn off. and my On Q ball was not working until around 4 am when the nurse came in to tell me that there are sensors on it that need to be touching my skin to trigger it to dispense the medicine. Over all the most real pain i have had was/is from the air/gas which feels like a severe case of heartburn, it is getting better, but having a hard time passing it on either end if you know what I mean.
I ate on ice chips all day yesterday, so today is the real test as I start on my clear liquid diet. MMm yummy....lol. Its been hard seeing pizza and food commercials on the TV, but i have been closing my eyes to avoid the thoughts. I really don't feel hungry as of yet though either.
