Patricia, I am pre op for RNY(10/18/4). I also have the same fears you have, but have spoken to so many happy WLS people that I am willing to live with anything I am afraid of. I will be having my surgery at Delray Medical Center. feel free to e-mail me ask me anything, or come visit me and see what its like when I have mine. There is also a support group at Delray Medical Center that I found very helpfull. Good Luck getting approved. I was approved after my first letter, I started crying when I got the call telling me. Its great knowing I begin my journey soon.

Hi Patricia, Good luck and best wishes on your weight loss journey. I can't give you much insight on the pain from the surgery because I haven't had mine yet either. I did have a total hysterectomy a few years ago. I can't imagine the pain being worse than that. The first few days were the worst and I remember thinking, "What did I let them do to me." After that it was mostly soreness. But it was worth it. So, I'm sure this will be worth it also. I will keep you in my prayers.

I said a prayer for you today, and know God must have heard, I felt the answer in my heart, although He spoke no word, I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures of, a more loving lasting kind, I asked Him to send you blessings at the start of your new day, To grant you love and health, and to guide the surgeon's way, I asked for you to recover fast, and to become thin and small, But it was for His loving care, I prayed for most of all!
