Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side for a month now. I hope that all went well for you! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 81 pounds!!! Good luck!

Hi Kathy! I received your email and read your profile, it's amazing how similar our experiences have been. We both went to the same seminar and all of the 'struggles' you had prior to surgery were the same ones I had. And though I generally consider my pain tolerance to be moderate, I think I have experienced VERY low pain tolerance after this surgery. I was expecting VERY minimal pain, as the two woment at work that I had discussed this with had expressed that they didn't have alot of pain. Maybe they just forgot, or maybe it's because they are at least 15 years younger... I haven't any problems with tolerating foods, though I have only tried adding a little banana and a couple of crackers so far. My mainstay is cottage cheese and the instant breakfast drink, with some mashed potatoes, blended soup, and cream of wheat for variety. I can't stand the stuff with nutrasweet, and even find applesauce tastes 'weird'.
