Barbara, 45 lbs. is terrific! It is hard to be a slow loser and a "lightweight"- I have only lost 29 lbs since my surgery Aug 19, 2002 (and 25 before surgery). You are losing at the proper rate for your size, and that IS SLOWER than persons with higher BMI. Take heart in the slower you lose, the better you skin and body recovers. We all have to get off the comparison kick and trust our own bodies, because they are all unique! You are doing the "Right stuff"- so it will keep working- just a little slower!

Hi Barbara. I'm sorry you're feeling so down. Sometimes we look at what others have done and wonder why it didn't happen to us that way!! That is completely normal. I want you to consider this. If you are "only" 110 pounds over your ideal weight, then 45 pounds is almost half way there!! From what I've read, the "lightweights" lose a greater percentage than the nonlightweights. So your loss has been a good one. I'm proud of how far you've come, and I know you will go farther. Keep the faith, you luzer!! Kuri, the true blue luzer!

Hi Barbara, I seen your post to night and had to write. I think your weight loss is wonderful. I know I have been losing slow as well. But think of it as 45 pounds less you have 2 months ago. I have been losing slowly and had more bad days with feelings than good ones. Please know its normal for all of us. If you ever wanna talk feel free to email me anytime. [email protected]. Best wishes to you my friend.

Barbara, I had to write you and let you know you just gave me one of my best "duhh" moments! I have been struggling constantly with eating too much (and to fast but that is a different problem). Never did it occur to me to STOP eating BEFORE I got the full feeling! Duhhh.. Lordy am I blonde or what! Anyway, I was just reading your post from last night and read the line about just that! I do believe that simple line will be repeated over and over to myself over the rest of the week.. no more getting sick! Yea... Just figured you would get a chuckle out of it! Thanks! Tami (the natural blonde!)

Barbara, Welcome to the losing side! Remember, the first 2-3 weeks are the worst. I pray you are feeling better each day and your dreams will be fulfilled with this surgery. May God continue to hold you in his healing hands and help you get closer to your goals each day. Tami
