I heard from Glenda today. This is from her... << I got home by 10:30 Friday. After you talked to my family I had some problems with a combination of the medications they gave me and throat and uvula (the hang down part between the tonsils) swelled about 5 times of normal. They gave me some emergency drugs and a breathing treatment and then called for am ambulance to transfer me to Durham regional Hospital and put me in ICU. It did not get any worse decreased enough by morning that they let me go home. I still feel like I might choke on the uvula. It feels real puffy and elongated. It gets in the way of my swallowing and it is very strange to clear my throat. It feels like I am going to swallow it I better go for now, Other than the bad gas pockets that seemed to be trapped up under my diaphram I feel pretty. I have not thrown up any. I am not at all hungry or craving any thing to eat at this time. Thanks for your concern Glenda >> Glenda, we are so glad you're doing ok now.

Hi Everyone...I just talked to Glenda's Mom. She said that Keith (Glenda's DH) was back in recovery with her and the doc said that her surgery went well...there were no complications. She was in some pain but overall doing well. I'll try to call again later today or tomorrow.

Hi Glenda, your big day is here how excited you must be. I read your posts just now and it scared me, because I am waiting for my WLS and the doctors office called today and said my liver enzymes are five times normal and I don't want any thing stopping this surgery. I am happy that you have moved to the side there is hope for the rest of us. I will say a prayer for you today for a speedy and healthy recovery. May God Bless You Glenda.
