Hey girl, who are you doing this for? You need to ask youself that question. If it's for anyone but yourself you might need to re-think your motivations. I have been waiting for this surgery to be approved since January of 2003. I don't often do things for myself but this is one decision I made for me and my health. I'm 55 and want to see my grandchildren grow up. With all the health problems I have been having because of the weight, I now see the WLS is my only hope to live a longer and healthier life.

Hello Jennifer - I just saw your post to the message board about your upcoming surgery date. Wooohooo, your second chance to "live" life is only a few short days away, <b>Congratulations!</b> My prayers and best wishes are with you as you take the first steps down the path to a healthier and thinner you. Just remember your overall attitude plays a large role in your recovery, keep it POSITIVE and ask lots and lots of questions. I look forward to reading the "updates" to your profile as your journey progresses. Dont forget to walk, walk, WALK right after surgery, no matter how tired you are......AND get your protein and water in daily, lots and lots of both, your health depends on it.
