Angel Update I just talked to a very slurry and well drugged Cindy. She assured me that today was much better than yesterday and she felt the sun was shining in her world a bit more. Her hubby has been there with her, but is leaving to go back home to their children tomorrow. (It's a 7 hr drive home for them). She should be discharged on Saturday providing she keeps down her first pureed meal on friday night and breakfast saturday.
The drains are still in, but should be removed tomorrow along with the NG tube. That's always a relief. Her pain level is up there, and she's been having muscle spasms, but the morphine pump is a wonderful thing. Already today she's done 9 laps around the med/surg floor. WAY TO GO CINDY! HUGS

oops...forgot to make this message an update....
Angel Update WHOO HOOOOOO Cindy is officially a loser now. Her DH called to inform me that she's out of recovery and in her own room. She's uncomfortable, but well medicated. Let me be the first to welcome you to the losing side Cindy! Merry Christmas. This next year is going to be incredible for you and your family. I wish you all the best. HUGS I'll call her tonight, but most likely tomorrow as today she'll mostly be "out of it" with Mr. Morphine Pump. gotta love him. lol. Update on her condition later.....

Angel Update time. I talked to Cindy an hour ago and she was #2 in line for surgery and expecting to go in around 9 or 10 AM. I'll call in another hour and see if she's in recovery or in her room by then. I should have an update of her status before the end of the day for sure. Send along your well wishes and luck and make her day a little brighter for when she's finally home and able to sit at the computer.
HUGS Cindy! Soon you'll be a big ole loser and I can't wait.
