Good Morning All ~ I just spoke with Claudia! She's getting ready to go home from University Hospital in Syracuse. Her surgery on Monday was successful and smooth. She was in surgery about 3 hours, then off to recovery and then her room. Dr. Weiss did her RnY LAP. She was in pain Monday but they got that under control and she slept OK, though it was difficult to move around to get comfortable. Tuesday she passed her leak test, and din't at all enjoy the barium swallow. She says she had a great nurse last night who got her up walking etc. Claudia was in some pain, but they got that under control again. This morning she's looking forward to getting to her Moms'house for a couple of days of TLC. Let's all go congratulate Claudia for crossing over to the LOSING side of life. Way to go girl!!!!!

Hello...Angel flying in to sort of give an update...I am still waiting for a call from Claudia's Mom as to how she's doing. I am going to call the hospital myself in the morning and try to speak directly with Claudia. Of course...with the way things are here with my boys off school, someone may have tried to leave a messqage while I was out and no one has told me yet :) Will post again tomorrow.

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Since our surgeries are the same day I wanted to let you know my thoughts are with you.

Claudia, WOO HOO tomorrow is the big day!! Sending you a virtual boquet and a ton of well wishes. Take those first few days as they come and know that life is going to be SO much better!! Get out of that bed and win the hall walking award to keep those blood clots from forming. The first few days can be a little difficult but that will soon past. You have a life time to look forward too and many exciting changes that will happen. KimmieTN
