OH MY GOD! A grandma is gone, those poor sweet little grand children will miss someone who loved them totally and unconditionally .I am rethinking even having this surgery. i have a grandson who I would not want to only meet again some day in heaven...maybe it just isn't worth it!!! kathy

Original Post by Cathy Falb at 11:30 AM CST on 05/06/2004 Lumberton, TX - Lap Band (03/10/2004) I don't usually post here as I have had the Lap-Band, but I wanted to come here and inform everyone that Kathy past away this morning at 3:30. She was my cousin. She went to Mexico to have the bypass on April 8th. After surgery she developed a hole in her esophagus that had to be repaired. She then got phneumonia and a severe infection. Her family found a specialist in Baton Rouge which is where she is from to fly down to Mexico on a medavac plane and pick her up. She arrived back in Baton Rouge last night about 10 but the infection had spread throughout her body. She went into a coma and then cardiac arrest. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not bashing anyone but I tried to talk her out of the bypass because of the risk of complications. I don't know yet if the complications were from the surgery or surgial error. Her mother just barried a son and her husband last year. The only thing I can think of is that Kathy's dad wanted his little girl with him. All Kathy wanted was to be thin and healthy. Now she will be eternally thin and healthy forever. -Cathy (I was named after her)

I'm so saddened to hear about Kathy's passing. I know that the family is also in much shock as well. I have your family in my prayers. I'm sure she will be greatly missed. Kathy's in a better place now away from any pain or suffering. God be with you til we meet again.

I am sitting here in shock. I have been emailing Kathy...trying to find out what's going on. Oh I am so sorry to her family for their loss! She is in my thoughts and prayers.
