Hi Sherry! I'm sorry to leave this here, but I kept getting an error message when I tried to email you. :-) I was just reading your profile at ObesityHelp, and I wondered if you would mind answering some questions for me? My name is Milenka, I am 24 years old, and I also live in Mt Pleasant. I've been obese all my life and have health issues such as PCOS, Depression, Hypothyroidism, Infertility, and high blood pressure. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get the weight off. I have made an appointment with my PCP for Wednesday in hopes of discussing my weight and getting his opinion on WLS. Where do I go from there? Will my PCP refer me to Dr Pilkington? Will I have to contact my insurance to see of WLS is covered, or will the office take care of that? It seems so confusing right now, but I am willing to do anything to improve the poor quality of life I have right now. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this message. Take care, Milenka

Hi everybody, I just got a phone call from Sherry Pritt. She is at her MOM's for a few days. She is a little sore , but is doing great. She is still on clear liquids , and starts full liquids tomorrow. They kept her in ICU for 2 and a half days. Just the way they do it I guess. She got to her own Room on Wednesday. She said most of the nurses were pretty great,but some of them just didn't know what to do. Wednesday night, she rain out of pain meds, and that was rough. They also orderded her a regular food tray, and she wasn't suppose to have that, so they took it away and didn't bring her anything else. The next day she had a talk with the Doctor and head nurse, and things got a lot better. She was the first Bariactric paitient they had. I hope they learn. POOR Sherry, She is doing good now though. She is going to be home tomorrow, so maybe we will hear from her soon. We are all praying for a safe and speedy healing. Carin

Well, I finally got antsy and called the hospital again. The nurse in the ICU unit said she was doing really good. It is there procedure to go to ICU for a day. Sherry didn't have a phone in ICU. but I heard her ask the nurse for my phone no. So our gal has crossed over and is on her way. Thanks for all the prayers everyone. Carin

I just talked to Sherry's Mom, Beverly, she is still in surgery , but they are closing now. Her Mom hasn't talked to the Doctor yet, but messangers have told her it is going well. I'll let you know when she calls. Carin

Hi Everybody, I talked to Sherry late last night, she was calm and so thankful for all of the messages and prayers she received. Both on her surgery page and e-mail. She said you all are truely a blessing. She had to be in Central Mich. University Hospital at 5:00 am this morning, and surgery was scheduled for 7:30. She is the first person they are doing this surgery on. Keep her and the Doctors and nurses in your prayers. I'll let you know when I hear somthing. Thanks and hugs, Carin

Are you are as excited as I am? I only have 35 more hours and I can't wait. We are having surgery on the same day so please stay in touch with me as we will begin this new journey together. Best of luck and you will sure be in my prayers. Love Lavonne ^j^
