SEVEN-MONTH UPDATE: Another 5 lbs gone, making a total of 87 altogether now. Check out the new picture on my profile. My BMI has dropped below 30, which means that I am no longer "obese"! Will I ever be "normal? Probably not by the "official" charts (who made them up anyhow??), but that's OK. I actually have no weight loss "goal" per se. I'm still slowly losing at a rate of about a pound per week. Approaching "equilibrium". I've not really "dieted" at all during these past months -- eating anything I felt like and just letting my body tell me when and how much to eat. I avoid foods with added sugar and don't eat hardly any pastas or breads. My head is now (finally!) very much aligned with my stomach's meager needs, and I no longer feel guilty about leaving food on my plate. Hallelujah!

Wow!! How do you feel? I'm sure you are a little overwhelmed right now, but that will pass. Just think, you are now on your way to better health. Congratulations on your surgery. I am also with Dr. Coon!! Isn't he great? I am so lucky to have him and so are you. When you feel like talking, let me know. I will be here. I had surgery December 28, 2005 and have lost 60 lbs. I feel great and exercise regularly. You may lose faster than me, just th ink about it... In five months, you will be at least 60lbs. lighter. What a great thought!! YOU GO, GIRL!
