Hi Gene!!! Happy 4 Year Anniversary! I am one of the lucky people who does know you and I thank God every day that I have you for support and as a friend. I am 2-weeks post op now and have lost 20 lbs. You have been a huge inspiration to me and always available when I have had questions. Hey Gene! Glad you are doing well. I am sorry I wasn't able to chat w/ you more while we were at the hospital together. I was always groggy from the morphine :-) Please update us on your progress!

Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000 I just talked to Gene on the phone. He is in his room now, walking, resting and doing really well. He sounded really good and I got to meet his wife on the phone... she sounds real nice... it will be exciting for all the Houston area people to get to meet in person. Gene got his supply of sugar free popcicles in the freezer at the nurses station and is in good shape in that way ~smile~ He expects to go home tomorrow or the next day but no hurry. ~denise
