ANGEL UPDATE: I talked with Ruthann today and her surgery went very well. She was pleased they only had to take one ovary. Her surgery was started a month ago but they found a mass on the ovary and didn't do the WLS. After further testing, they determined it was benign and combined her WLS with removal of the ovary and mass. She was sore but excited to be on the other side! Please post notes to her surgery page for her when she arrives home tomorrow. WEIGH TO GO, RUTHANN!!!

I just spoke to Ruthann on the phone. She is very disappointed since they were NOT able to do her surgery. After they did a couple of incisions for her LAP RNY, they found she had a very large tumor the size of an orange or grapefruit on one of her ovaries. Until they know if it is benign, they did not want to reduce her chances of needing extra nutrition. Once this problem is resolved, they will try again. Ruthann will be coming home tomorrow. Please send her your thoughts and words of encouragement since she is sooooooo very disappointed!!!!
