Good Morning and a Happy Re-birthday to you!!! I found this quote and just love it! When running up a hill, it’s alright to give up as many times as you wish – as long as your feet keep moving. By - Shoma Morita M.D. I can only imagine that your experience has been wonderful. Full of changes and new experiences. I can hardly wait to see what I look like and feel like one year out!!! Congratulations to YOU!!! RNY 10/31/03 down 86 pounds!!!

Susan, I am so sorry to read that your hernia repair recovery has been so tough. I appreciated the note you sent me just prior to mine. I ended up with gortex about 8 x 8!!!! I still have some twinges and a place that seems to pull, but the actual recovery went well (except for discovering that I am now allergic to morphine). You are having a terrible time- - just proves any kind of surgery can be tough. Hang in there---this will pass, too, and you can get back to your life. I am looking forward to being in the "1's" - still 33 lbs. to go to break 200. Take care.

Dear Susan- I'll be saying prayers for your quick recovery. If it helps, you are not alone. There are a few of us out here that had to deal with open surgical wounds and packing/wound care. The extra protien that you are getting in now will help tremedously in the healing. I managed to go back to work with my binder over the open wound for 3 weeks. best wishes-

Everyone please visit Susan's surgery page and lift her spirits. Susan has finally come home from the hospital for a second time since her hernia surgery. She has an open incision that has to be packed several times a day. She has a picc line for her antibiotics to treat the staph from her stay in the hospital during the initial surgery. It has been very chaotic and painful for Susan. This is a girl that spends most of her time making people smile and laugh. Please send her your best wishes.
