Day 88! Angel update. Tammy is still in the hospital. She is at a rehab in Dallas, learning to walk & talk and do everyday things. Her surgery was April 29th, and she has not been home since that day. I visited with her yesterday and today. She is speaking a little better, some words more audible than others. She needs assistance to eat and drink and they are threatening to put in a tube for liquids as she is dehydrated. I'm appauled that they make little effort to give her liquids because she can't hold the bottle to her mouth and drink because of the neuropathy. To solve it they want to insert a tube into her stomach! (Angel Kathleen is growling here!) Cringing! Her husband and I got her some sippy cup type cups and sports bottle to try to help her grab and lift it, and to ALWAYS have it in her chair during rehab activities. She is progressing, and I see good things happen everyday, but she is depressed and sad about the state her body is in now. I won't go into how this all happened you can read her page for details. It does seem that when they put her on the respirator, and gave her paralytic drugs her lungs shut down causing the neuropathy. I'm not a medical person so not sure if this is correct. She is looking at 6 more months of working through the neuropathy. At any rate, she wants me to caution those thinking about this surgery. Negative comments are never received here very well, but complications can happen to any one. I had some, you can see them on my page also. Please send her prayers and well wishes, she is a dear sweet woman, love her to pieces! I'm so sad inside, wish I could lift her out of the chair and make her all better... (((HUGS))) to all and best wishes to everyone! KL

TAMMY ~ I want to tell you even though you've gone through so much, you shouldn't be depressed or sad! You are alive, breathing, and recovering with the Lord's Help!! Be secure in the fact that God is there for you and will guide you back to the life you once knew. Actually, an even BETTER life then you knew! Continue to keep your faith and focus on Him for He will show you the way!! I continue to pray for your healing hon and think of you often. I'm so happy that you're making progress and it won't be long - you're a strong woman for even deciding to face surgery! Now, you must use that strength to get yourself better!!! God Bless You Hon and I will continue to pray for you, always... Love, Hugs and Blessings! †
