I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.**Hugs**

Hi Betty, My name is Joanne Gurion. I had an RNY 11-30-01 and from what I hear from your angel, sounds like we had similar complications. I could not keep even fluids down eventually and became dehydrated and was hospitalized. An abdominal CT scan and upper GI showed stenosis (narrowing) at the point where the intestine was reattached to the stomach pouch. This was confirmed by a gastroenterologist and I was scoped and dilated during the procedure. I was given meds through an IV line and was so sedated that the procedure was painless. I woke up tired but pain free. The Dr. must be able to pass the scope through the opening in order for you to be able to eat and drink normally without vomiting and large amounts of mucous. Although it helped somewhat, I needed to have this done a total of 3 times before the opening was large enough for the scope to pass through. There was a 2 week period between dilitations. I just had the last one done last week and am feeling SO much better. I can tolerate even REAL food and have so much more energy again. It was getting rather depressing, especially since it took so long to diagnose. I really wondered if I made the right decision. I can truly say now, WHAT A DIFFERENCE !!! Yes, we made the right choice. You will feel so much better as soon as you get this problem fixed. I cannot believe the difference. A few word of advice--- if you are placed on liquids as I was be sure to stay on them until your gastroenterologist says otherwise. A communication breakdown between my surgeon and gastroenterologist occurred. The surgeon advised me to try a soft diet after the 1st dilitation which ended up inn a trip by ambulance to the hospital and pain unlike I have never experienced. Once the scope goes all thhe way through your gastroman will give you the OK. Trust me, it's well worth the wait. Sugarfree popsicles and protein fruit flavored water from GNC and Trader Joes got me through this time. I will be thinking of you and praying that all goes well. I know how hard it is to wait but be assertive. Get it done as soon as possible and know that it WILL get much better. Please contact me at ANY time. Sincerley, Joanne ([email protected])

**** ^j^ RUSTY ANGEL WINGS flyin' in ^j^ **** Betty had her surgery almost 6 weeks ago. She has been MIA for the past month. I called last night to see how she was doing. Betty is having a really hard time right now. She has thrown up everything food and liquid since she came home. Dr. Todd feels that she needs to have a dialation. If anyone can send Betty some words of support it would be wonderful. She is down -50+ lbs but what a terrible way to do it. Thanks..KimmieTN

Betty's surgery went well, and she is now home. It is a lot of work for her so far, but she has a great heart and should do well. Thank you, Lord, for such great patients.
