Hi Curt, Congratulations on your 30 pound loss! In just 2 weeks? No wonder you are already feeling different/better. Okay, this is the third time I am writing the same reply to your post, hopefully the website will behave this time and accept it. I am 110 pounds overweight with a BMI of 39.1 and I met with Dr. Hunter, a laproscopic gastric bypass surgeon, for the first time yesterday. I like him--he's very knowledgeable, patient with questions (I had more than I thought I would), and compassionate. His insurance coordinator will send my file to my insurance, Boeing Traditional Medical, within the next few days, and within 2-3 weeks we (Dr. Hunter and I) should hear something in the mail. He said that Boeing Traditional is pretty accommodating, so I am hopeful. I also have a consult with a sleep specialist for sleep apnea on the 15th. Dr. Hunter says I have the symptoms, and if I have that condition, he needs to know so that he and his staff can take extra precautions during surgery. Good for you for getting in your water and at least some of your protein. Were you only getting in 30 grams a day because of your appetite? Has your appetite changed so far since surgery? What have you been using as a protein source? What does a "semi real food" diet look like? Hugs to you and thank you for sharing your story. Enjoy your new semi real food diet and I hope you continue to have a peaceful recovery. Yay you! FrancescaDoraH 17 years, 10 months ago
