Hi Marlene, My name is Renee Brooks. I have been searching for docs as I have been wanting the R-Y surgery for nearly 10 years. I have hit a million brick walls and have almost given up. I have a profile on here and you are welcome to read it, my name is RNEY......on the profile. I found your profile as I have been searching for a doc that will take medicare and I have to say that I saw me in your profile, It made me cry and I see that I have to keep on searching to have this operation as it has got so bad with me now that I am nearly at the grave. I chose you because you had used medicare and you made me feel like taking a stand and to not give up. I thank you so much. I live in Macon GA and have tried a couple of the docs from Atlanta but one dont take medicare and the other says i have to loose alot of weight before having the surgery, and that is something I simply cannot do, I have been trying to do so all my life and have tried every diet on the planet and I still cannot loose any. Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side for a month now. I hope that all went well for you! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 81 pounds!!! Good luck!

Hi all, Marlene did well with surgery. She had a rough night. Seems to be doing a little better today. It seems as if everything is going as expected so hopefully she will get out tommorrow. Thank you all for posting to her page. She was very happy to get it yesterday. Hope she is the one to update you next time. Take Care...Betsy

Hey! Just wanted to wish you good luck on your big day!! Think positive thoughts and do exactly what your doc tells ya and you'll be great!! I'm only 7 weeks out and already down 45 lbs!! Best thing I've ever done for me and my family! Best wishes and prayers to you for an easy go of it and a quick recovery!! Remember...walk, walk, walk :) Cyndy
