Hi Anita! You are doing GREAT!!!! I'm sooo happy for you. 55lbs in 2-3 months is very impressive. Keep up the fantastic work, and keep smiling! I hope I'm as successful as you. God Bless You.

anita, girl i've been where u are and believe me it doesn't get any easier. there is a little light at the end of the tunnel, however and i say little because it is in relation to the amount of protein u will eventually be able to EAT, now u see? once u start to really EAT your protein you will get in a nice SMALL amount of your daily intake that way but again its not a lot. the other thing is this, for me, meat sometimes makes my pouch feel yukky but everything else goes down smooth. EXCEPT seafood, it's really the only kind of meat i can eat with no feelings of uncomfortability. the other thing i wanted to say is PLUG, PLUG AWAY at the different protein drinks, u might not find one u like but u will find one u can TOLERATE, cuz its necessary. i HATE ALL OF THEM WITH A PASSION UNBEKNOWNST!!! as i type this i am drinking Myoplex Carb Sense Strawberry Cream which tastes so NOT like strawberry milk it's ridiculous. it takes me about 1 hour to drink 11 ounces it has 25 grams of protein and 5 grams of carbs with less than 1 gram of sugar. i also drink Spiruteen which tastes a little bit better but has way more sugar, still tastes nasty though. good luck girl, cuz the way i see it protein and water is the key to FLUSHING THE FAT and keeping us healthy through this post-op period.

Anita, hang in there, it will get better. It's very hard in the beginning and pretty much everyone feels depressed, you get that with ANY major surgery. Nevermind how hard it is to have surgery AND change your life completely...It will get easier every day and you will do just fine. Take care...:o)

I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.

Anita, I don't know if this will make you feel better, but I went through the same thing you're going through. I had the hardest time drinking my required Carnation Instant Breakfast - I finally had to heat it in order to be able to drink it. It hurt to drink water and I had terrible gas - explosive bowel movements. What really helped me was Healthy Request Chicken Noodle Soup - I sipped on that and mashed the noodles (my doctor OK'd it). About a week and a half later I went through the "why did I do this blues" it only lasted about a day (thank goodness). Hang in there, don't worry about getting in your protein drinks right now - try to get in as much water as possible. Try some soup - that might help. Here's some good news - I was going through everything you are and then about 2 weeks later, I woke up and found out that I could drink sips of water without painful bubbles. There is some hope! Take care and good luck! ~J
