Richard, Best wishes with your upcoming surgery. You will do just fine. I'm not going to set here and tell you that you aren't going to have any pain, but honestly the medication that they give you will control it very well. I had my surgery 2-3-03 and I remember some pain, but mostly I remember being uncomfortable because I could not lay on my side or on my stomach. If you don't have a recliner at home it's something that you might look into. We didn't have one when I came home, but the next day my husband went out and rented one for a couple of weeks.
