Amy.. I agree with the previous comment. You need to get a lawyer to write you a letter. You should try to find someone who specializes in employment law because I think you have been wronged here. Just my opinion. I hope you come to this board for support often as it sounds like you aren't getting much from your family at this time. Sounds like you are prime for depression as well. Please don't hesitate to let your Dr. know and get some meds if you need. This is the time you would get an after surgery depression regardless of your current work situation. If you want to talk please feel free to email me @ [email protected].

Amy, Congratulations on your sugery and good luck with your new life. About your job- what your supervisor did was highly unethical. Have a lawyer write a letter to HIS supervisor AND your HR department. I can understand that you might not want to work there again, but I would def. expect some compensation from them in the form of severance pay. Paying a lawyer for writing a letter is NOT that expensive and probably would be a good investment. Think about what they did, and what they will continue to do to anyone else in our position! Good Luck!

Amy-I pray that you made it safely through your WLS and that the pain was not too bad. I'm glad you went ahead with this in spite of terrible pressure and fear. This is the best thing you have ever done for yourself. Please take care of yourself and keep us updated as to your progress. :>

Amy- I am sorry that Paul is so worried for you. I know you realize he cares so much for you and doesn't know how to handle something this big. I have found that my complete confidence about my surgery on 11/21/01 is really helping my family and friends to deal with it. Some of my loved ones are talking to me less than usual or sound a little preoccupied, but I know this will get better as I recover. I hope you can find the peace and confidence you need in the next few days. Be strong and know that you are taking care of yourself because you must. All else will fall into place eventually. I am thinking about you.

Amy, best wishes for your upcoming surgery. I had mine in November 2000, and I have never had a single regret. One thing that may help to remember is that the nervousness is over with when you wake up in the recovery room to your new life.
