Angel update! I spoke to Tarsha on both Saturday 8/17 and Sunday 8/18. She has made it to the other side and is doing well. Her surgery was a great sucess and she is recovering nicely. On Saturday, she was groggy, sleepy and doped up with morphine, so our conversation was short and sweet. The important thing was that she was pain free, which was a big concern forher pre-surgery-not to hurt. On Sunday, she was feeling more alert and said that the Drs. had taken her off morphine and switched her to Demerol. She said she had to be put back on a catheter because she has not been able to use the bathroom independently as of yet. She says the Drs. think it is because her system is still "asleep" due to the morphine and should wake up soon. She said she was able to eat broth and sherbet. She's had regular visits from her husband who had taken off 3 weeks from work to support her. She also had vists from her mother and brother. Her 6 year old daughter misses her terribly. We ended the conversation as she left for a walk with her husband. I did not talk with her today, Monday, but plan to give a call tomorrow morning . I am also planning to fax her card on Tuesday, so there is still time to sign it if you have no already had an opportunity to do so. Please continue to send healing light, prayers and positive thoughts of support for Tarsha's expedient and healthy recovery.
