First Blog - Surgery in 19 days time

Well - this is my first blog on this site - although I have set up my own blog site too - but not yet brave enough to publish it !So - just under 3 weeks to my surgery for VSG and Gall Bladder removal. I have been told that I don't need to do a pre-surgery diet so that's good - albeit I have guests coming for 2 weeks so am likely to put on a few pounds whilst they are here rather than lose. It's a good temperature here in Dubai at the moment so must of us have guests coming usually for 2 weeks at a time between mid Oct to the end March - then it starts getting hotter and they stay at home whilst we swelter in 50+ degrees !
Am really looking forward to my surgery, I paid for my mum to have it this time last year and I have to say it's been life changing for her - she has lost about 7 stone so far and it's made a big difference to her as she has bad arthritis in her knees. So I am lucky as I know what to expect from speaking to her.
My pre-op is less than 2 weeks away and I am keen to get this out of the way and to start my journey to a new me ! Plenty of things scheduled in the next few weeks to keep me busy before the surgery - including the challenge of trying to find suitable drinks/protein drinks etc in Dubai.
